Army Corp Case Study

Situation:

The Army Corp of Engineers water storage facilities were having trouble with their HMI interface for monitoring and collecting equipment data. They faced difficulties in using the existing software and hardware setup. B&K was brought in to evaluate the situation and provide solutions. The assessment aimed to improve the functionality and usability of the interface for better equipment management. After listening to the operators on hardware problems and looking at the software, B&K found out that the hardware couldn’t gather the necessary data from their equipment properly. Not only that, but the HMI software was difficult to use and not easy for the operators to navigate.

Mission:

B&K was given the responsibility to check the monitoring tools that the Army Corps were using. They were also asked to choose a Human Machine Interface (HMI) that could effectively gather and show the data on the screen. In addition, the software needed to have a simple and easy-to-use interface for the operators to make changes as needed.

Execution:

B&K engineers carefully chose, set up, and evaluated a cost-efficient, top-notch HMI hardware and software bundle. They then showed the solution to the Army Corps, who were amazed by the precision and dependability of the system. Following a day of training with the software, they managed to move around and produce the essential graphics and data collection needed for their facilities.

Result:

The Army Corps of Engineers’ division has installed the system at all their water storage sites and is now collecting data accurately and confidently. We had a great experience collaborating with them, and they are excited about the prospect of working together on future projects.
