Cliff Jones Ushers in a New Wave of "Drive Dirtballs" at B&K

01 Jul 2025 Training & Events, VFD

If you’ve spent any time in the world of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), you know there’s one name that keeps coming up: Cliff Jones. With his signature blend of deep technical knowledge and hands-on training style, Cliff has once again delivered a sold-out VFD seminar that left attendees buzzing—and better equipped to handle the realities of VFD installations in the field.

Hosted at the William H. Kindrick Training Center in City of Industry, CA, our June 17th seminar welcomed a diverse group of contractors, panel builders, maintenance electricians, and system integrators—each ready to level up their drive game.

From power distribution design to harmonic mitigation, and from reflective wave theory to wiring VFDs inside an enclosure, Cliff pulled no punches. His clear breakdowns and real-world examples earned him some new fans—and a few new nicknames, including a favorite that’s catching on fast: Drive Dirtballs (and we say that lovingly).

Want proof Cliff’s been schooling the industry for decades? Check out his first documented training back in 1984:
