The Future of Manufacturing Through Innovation and Collaboration

B&K recently hosted Automation in Action, bringing together customers, manufacturing partners, system integrators, and industry experts for a day dedicated to exploring the future of industrial automation.

Designed as an interactive learning experience, the event gave attendees the opportunity to experience live demonstrations, attend educational sessions, and engage directly with engineers and product specialists to discuss real-world manufacturing challenges. From robotics and process automation to industrial networking, motor control, electrical distribution, machine safety, and digitalization, attendees gained practical insights into technologies that can improve productivity, increase efficiency, and strengthen operational performance.

A highlight of the event was the educational speaker series, where industry experts shared actionable strategies on workforce development, knowledge transfer, process efficiency, and automation implementation. Rather than focusing solely on products, each session emphasized practical solutions that manufacturers can apply within their own facilities.

“Automation in Action was exactly what we envisioned, a day where customers could step away from their daily responsibilities and experience technology in a hands-on environment,” said Melissa Moon, Marketing Director at B&K. “Watching manufacturers, engineers, and our technology partners collaborate, ask questions, and exchange ideas reinforce why events like this are so valuable. It’s not just about showcasing products; it’s about creating meaningful connections that help our customers solve problems and move their businesses forward.”

Beyond the educational sessions, attendees had the opportunity to connect one-on-one with B&K’s engineering team and leading automation manufacturers to discuss current applications, future projects, and integrated solutions tailored to their operations. These conversations reinforced the importance of collaboration in helping manufacturers navigate today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities.

The experience extended beyond technology. Guests enjoyed lunch from Southern California favorite Pie’n Burger, while the nostalgic Thrifty Ice Cream truck became a popular gathering spot throughout the afternoon, creating opportunities for networking and conversation in a relaxed setting.

Automation in Action highlighted B&K’s commitment to serving as more than a distributor. By bringing together technology, engineering expertise, and trusted manufacturing partners, the event demonstrated the value of collaboration in helping customers improve their operations and confidently embrace the future of manufacturing.

“Automation isn’t about replacing people, it’s about empowering them. Events like Automation in Action give manufacturers the opportunity to see what’s possible when the right technology, engineering expertise, and industry partnerships come together,” said Jason Edwards, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at B&K. “Our goal has always been to help customers move beyond simply purchasing products. We want to be a trusted partner that helps them solve problems, improve performance, and prepare for the future of manufacturing. The conversations that started during this event are just the beginning, and we’re excited to continue working alongside our customers as they turn ideas into results.”

Automation in Action is one of the many ways B&K continues to invest in customer education and innovation. As manufacturers face increasing demands for productivity, flexibility, and workforce efficiency, B&K remains committed to connecting customers with the technologies, expertise, and partnerships that help drive long-term success.
