Learning and collaboration alongside ABB in Chicago

While in Chicago for Automate, Jason Edwards and Melissa also attended ABB’s Americas Value Provider Conference. The event provided a full day of learning, meeting new people, and discussing developments in ABB Robotics with the wider partner community.

For B&K, these conversations are an important part of staying connected to the technologies and people supporting industrial automation. A conference creates time to ask questions, exchange perspectives, and learn how others are approaching customer applications. Those relationships help inform the way we evaluate opportunities and coordinate technical support.

ABB’s new PoWa collaborative robot family was a key topic of discussion. The portfolio spans payloads from 7 to 30 kilograms and uses ABB’s OmniCore controller platform. The introduction expands the options customers can consider as they evaluate robotic handling and other industrial applications.

For customers, the useful question is how a new robot fits the work that needs to be done. Robot selection must account for payload, reach, required cycle time, tooling, integration, and application safety. Discussions around new introductions are most valuable when they help clarify those requirements and identify what needs further evaluation.

The conference also gave B&K an opportunity to connect directly with ABB leadership, ask questions, and discuss how new technologies can address customer needs.

“Our collaboration with ABB leadership starts with bringing our customers’ challenges into the conversation. Sharing what we’re seeing in the field and learning directly from ABB helps us connect their technology and resources with the applications our customers are working on.” — Jason Edwards, VP of Marketing & Sales, B&K Electric Wholesale

These conversations strengthen the relationship between B&K and ABB and help us coordinate the expertise needed to move customer projects forward—from evaluating an application to identifying the right technical support.
